So Proud of Mr. Deals

So the husband and I, otherwise known as Mr. Deals, are going to California in the next month. Last night he mentioned that the week after we return he might need to go back to Los Angeles for work. At that very moment I thought, “wait a second, let’s stay in California longer through the weekend and go home after your meeting!” I always take every opportunity to extend my vacations (they are usually capped depending on Mr. Deals work schedule).

Within a few minutes I realized that I actually had to be home that weekend in between for a friends wedding event, darnit! But, I suggested to my husband that he stay out and visit his friend in San Diego. He pondered on it for about two seconds and stated, “Nah, I’ll fly home with you and then fly back out the next week. This way I will earn more miles… I am trying to get my American Airlines Gold status.”

This was maybe my proudest moment with Mr. Deals! Welcome to the world of points and miles babe!

@JettyBoy – My work gives a healthy number of days off. And since it is PTO time it is all clumped into one.

Mrs. Deals,

I’d love a job that lets me do lots of traveling. Aside from consulting, can you name a few jobs that require you to travel alot?

@Student – Consulting would be at the top of the list. This was my job for 5 years and I am still in a job that allows me to travel here and there. A recruiter is another one where you might travel quite a bit – either college recruiting at high school or corporate recruiting at campuses for full time jobs. Many sales job require you to be on the road a fair bit.

I know what turns Mrs. Deals on 🙂

@Student, sales for the right company will allow you to travel regionally. Consulting is a sure bet for a ton of travel unless you get placed locally. Some business development jobs within media companies also have a fair bit of travel too.

Way to go Mr. Deals for making Mrs. Deals proud and for earning your AAdvantage Elite status!!

@ Student – Public relations, in the right industry can involve quite a bit of travel for press events, media gatherings, business conferences, and trade shows. Some examples: aviation, automotive, and entertainment.

@ Mr. Deals, Aadvantagegek, Thank you both for the suggestions. I’m not really a sales person or I would go that route. I will definitely look into the other examples. PR and organizing trade shows sounds interesting.
