UPDATE: El Al might be going back on their word as they just updated their Twitter account saying: “Details/ decisions re incorrect fares that were briefly sold on Monday are not finalized. We will update tomorrow.” I personally would wait to make any non-refundable reservations. I do have a good feeling that it will go through, but more tomorrow…
In case you got on yesterdays El Al flights to Israel price glitch error deal (as low as $330 roundtrip), the error deal is being honored!
This was by far one of those “act now, think later” scenarios. I had friends telling me that they couldn’t book because they weren’t able to reach their significant other. I literally wanted to shake them and say “WHO CARES! JUST BOOK.” Since the flights could be canceled 24 hours later, just book now and figure out later if it works or not. If it doesn’t work at least you tried and there is no loss… maybe just some time lost trying to get the search engine to work in your favor!
And just remember, if you are going to cancel, do that today! If you got in on this and are going, congrats and enjoy! I was able to get a ticket for myself and Mr. Deals for ~$400 each roundtrip for the beginning of December and then for my parents for the same price the beginning of November. In coach, these tickets typically average $1,300, although on a really good sale, maybe you could get them for $1,000, but that is low.
The last (and only) time I was in Israel was when I was 16 so I have a feeling I know what my next “Help a Reader” travel post will be – helping me and my parents plan our trip! Let me know if you had any success!

HI. is there any way to get text messages of all your posts as they come in and not only once a day coz…. yes… i really missed it yesterday
@mr g – That is actually something I want to figure out how to do as I now it has been an issue. I just sent an email to figure out a solution. I am so sorry you missed out yesterday.
I just wrote a post about the importance of Twitter to travel junkies. This sale was a perfect example!
The ‘Help a Reader’ should also focus on folks that are returning. 😉
I think we’ll spend a couple of days visiting Jerusalem (repeat of first visit), followed by a few days down in Eliat, then Petra.
@dhammer53 – We can do that! I remember loving Eliat when I was there. I went sailing on the Red Sea and snorkeling.
Fantastic deal!
I can taste the falafel already!
@Sarah – I actually had falafel yesterday for lunch to celebrate!
A great deal! Hope they don’t go to war with Iran after the November election!
Good for you!!!! How did you get your Dad’s ticket fixed?
@AAdvantage Geek – They said it would be fine, I think it will be?!
I am going November 17, 2012 for 6 full days. When is the November election?
Glad it all worked out. I’m sure y’all will have a great time!
Glad you all enjoy an Arabic meal!
Apparently, El Al wants to rescind the offer …..

GM. JUST HEARD ON WCBS 880 AM nyc (6.51AM) that they have contacted elal airline .and they said they have not decided YET how to go about the cheap tickets . (i guess they working out with pr and lawyers how to get away with it) so lets wait and see …………………………………………
@mr g – Oh no!!! Let’s hope!
they also said that over 5000 tickets sold and if regular price
they also said that over 5000 tickets sold and if regular price WITH a stop cost about$950 . so that’s over 2 million $ lost for them . that a lot of money > but if they ask me (i know they wont’t) its the best paid advertisement they ever get lol
@mr g – Agreed. And it is getting people to Israel who might not have ever even thought of going.
Congrats @dealswelike on getting the deal in time! WAHOO!
@W Brian Duncan – Thanks! Let’s just hope it is honored!

[…] is always hard to know whether or not they will actually be honored. The following day on Tuesday, EL AL posted that they’d honor the mistake fare! However, just a day later on Wednesday they semi went back on their word saying that no final […]
