With many people still not going to restaurants — and colder weather coming upon us — many of you are probably ordering takeout more often than the norm. Although there are many food delivery services, such as Seamless, UberEats, GrubHub and more, DoorDash is currently offering the most ways to save money — and they are quite significant.

With the DoorDash service, you order food at participating restaurants through the DoorDash app and the driver will leave the food for you on your front stoop without you having to sign for your order. Some restaurants even allow you to pick up your order, if you prefer, and still order through DoorDash. By taking advantage of the many DoorDash promotions, you can save some money on your future takeout orders.

5 Ways to save money with DoorDash promotions

New customers get $30 in credits

If you are a new DoorDash customer, you can get $30 in DoorDash credits. This will give you $10 off your first three orders of $20 or more.

You can also then invite your friends to DoorDash and you’ll receive $10 in credits for all friends who sign up through your link. You can receive credits for up to 25 new members.

Use your Chase Sapphire Reserve $60 credit

New and existing Chase Sapphire Reserve card members receive up to $120 in DoorDash credits. This is a relatively new perk that was added to the card earlier this year which allows you to receive $60 in credits in 2020 and $60 in credits in 2021.

To take advantage of this credit, just use your Chase Sapphire Reserve card to pay for your order and you’ll see a credit on your statement almost immediately.

Up to $30 off DoorDash gift card

Amazon came out with a very generous promotion recently where you’ll receive up to $30 off your order by applying just 1 Membership Reward points to your account. Unfortunately, this is a targeted offer and some will see anywhere to $10 to $30 off, but if you have yet to use it, you can use it towards a DoorDash gift card purchase. You can check your account to see if you are eligible and you have until December 31, 2020 to take advantage of this offer.

Up to $20 off for American Express cardmembers

A new Amex Offer just surfaced where Membership Reward earning credit cards can receive up to $10 off a $30 purchase — twice. This will allow you to earn a total of $20 in statement credits. While most Amex Offers are targeted, this offer seems to be widely available. Just make sure to add this offer to your card and use that particular card to pay for your purchase. This promotion goes through November 30, 2020.

Free DashPass membership

Many Chase credit cards are offering complimentary DashPass membership, which means you’ll receive free delivery at participating restaurants on orders of $12 or more.

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve: Receive complimentary membership through Dec. 31, 2021. Or, if you do not sign up until 2021, you’ll receive a full year long membership.
  • Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited: Receive three months of complimentary DashPass membership. If you want to keep your membership going after those three months, you’ll pay just half price — membership typically costs $9.99/month.

Overall

If you have been ordering out, check to see if your restaurant is available through DoorDash. My favorite DoorDash promotion out of the bunch is the SoFi money offer — it offers significant savings and everyone is eligible as long as you have the card. It is also extremely simple and does not require a roundabout method to purchase gift cards.

Reference that Zola thing – both of my orders were cancelled for “billing issues,” not further identified. As for Door Dash in general, you may save money, but some of these services are charging the business up to 30%. Maybe better to order the food and go pick it up yourself.

The SoFi has a $100 cap for new members. $100 in cash back or $500 in doordash spend.

Thanks for the great website! I often Google first to see the restaurant’s menu direct prices vs DoorDash, since there is often a 15% markup. The SoFi credit works with DoorDash Canada too, and there is 0% fx fees with SoFi’s debit card.
