If you love the Hyatt Ziva brand, then I have some good news for you. A new property is in the works in and hopefully in 2022 we will see the opening of the Hyatt Ziva Barbados. The Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara are the all-inclusive brands within the Hyatt chain and are personally some of my favorite properties. Since this one is being branded as a “Ziva” property that means it will serve to all families. (As oppose to the “Zilara” properties which are adults only).

The Hyatt Ziva Barbados will be in Carlisle Bay, which is right in Bridgetown — the capital of Barbados. This is a more lively area and where the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados is located. It is also only about 20 minutes away from the airport. Note: This project is currently set to be built by Vision Development Inc. As of now, they have applied for permission to construct this property, but final approval has not yet been granted.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is another all-inclusive property within the Hyatt brand and one of my favorite resort designations with the family.

Originally it looked like a Hyatt Centric was originally going to be built in the same location, but I am glad to see the Hyatt Ziva Barbados instead. The plans include a 380-room hotel with 40 condominiums. There will be multiple high-rise buildings ranging between 10 to 18 floors. As of now, the estimated timeline is about two years, but as we’ve seen in the past with new properties in the Caribbean, those timelines are typically stretched out quite a bit.

Overall

I am extremely excited to see another Hyatt Ziva property opening up in the future. Hyatt thus far has done a great job with their all-inclusive concept. My family has visited the Hyatt Ziva Cancun three times and had plans for the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana (although that was canceled due to the pandemic). I also loved my trip to Barbados about nine years ago, so this is a property that will absolutely be on my radar. I’ll be sure to keep a close eye on this property and report any updates. Although realistically, I do not foresee it opening until 2023 at the earliest.
Anyone else excited for this prospect?

The Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall exceeded all the expectations I had for an all inclusive. We enjoyed it so much we were planning to return this summer. All vacation plans will be put off at least until 2021.

I’m going to disagree on this one. Looking at the rendering, it has all the charm and warmth of a root canal. It looks like an office park by the beach. I like Barbados greatly and Hyatt is by far my favorite hotel chain but I dearly hope that the pictures just don’t do it justice. Comparing it to other Ziva or Zilara hotels really really doesn’t seem to help this one out.

Ziva brand sucks for familie due to 500$+ rates. When you can go to a property with free breakfast and a lounge for a quarter of that.

I wouldn’t equate being pricey to sucking. The Ziva in Montego Bay is gorgeous and has superb food.

The Crane is a gorgeous, though more remote, property on the other side of the airport. Partly a HGV property so can use Hilton points (but not 5th night free).

Im still waiting on the Sam Lord’s Castle reopening as a Wyndham Grand. It has already taken 5 yrs & numerous delays because of issues with their government, so I wouldn’t anticipate a 2022 open date for Hyatt either!
