Another blog post from Mr. Deals…
First off, I should tell you the Mrs. Deals explicitly gave me the week off last week as she was very busy preparing for her favorite day of the year, Black Friday. I would like to thank my mom for the text last Sunday: Â “Where’s Mr. Deals blog post?” Don’t worry mom, I’m back.
Essentially this is the time of year where I sometimes like to distance myself from Mrs. Deals. It’s the only time of the year when she will buy a newspaper but not for the actual news, solely for the circular. CVS is her favorite circular which is ok with me because typically most of that stuff is standard household stuff that we buy anyway. As I sit here and type this with the CVS circular next to me, I have noticed she has marked off specific items with other coupons she plans to apply to the items. I just have to leave it alone and let her be…for my own safety.
The thing is, with Mrs. Deals it’s a family affair. They all want some sort of deal on this Black Friday crap. Mrs. Deals and her mom wake up at the crack of dawn Friday to swarm the stores often to come home with nothing. They plan for this week the second the deals come out and the conversation doesn’t stop even when they don’t have anything to buy (unless its about Shark Tank – my father in-law has some bizarre obsession with Shark Tank and he seems to be getting in trouble for talking about it too much).
Now, I don’t have a problem with any of you deal hunters out there. I can appreciate getting a great deal on a TV or some other big purchase that you only make every 5-10+ years. Just know, there’s always going to be a good deal out there and there’s no need to stampede people to get one. Stay safe this Black Friday, watch out for Mrs. Deals and her mom, and Happy Thanksgiving!
